Grooving device for making grooves in shoe soles.
The invention relates to a tool for producing grooves in shoe soles, in particular for drawing in the lower edge of the upper part. For this purpose, tools with knives have become known, which produce a so-called crack lip, or machines in which angular knives dig a chip. The removal of a crack lip could not satisfy the requirement that the upper part edge could be inserted, while the use of machines in small businesses is inexpedient and mostly impossible because of the high costs. The adjustment work associated with the use of the knife is too great in relation to its practical application.

to produce a cutting stock arranged in a carrier with an angled or arcuate cutting edge.
According to the invention, the cutting clip is arranged interchangeably on an insert piece which can be felt in the carrier and determines the position of the cutting edge. For this purpose, the insert piece has pins that serve as carriers for the cutting tip. This measure enables differently shaped clips to be attached and adjusted with the least amount of work,

seen with machines.
For easy removal of the excavated chip is in the carrier of the cutting stock, u. Between behind the same, a hole is provided for chip ejection.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
1 shows a side view with a partial section along the line 1-1 of FIG. 2, FIG. 2 shows a plan view and FIG. 3 shows a vertical section of the device along the line 11-11 of FIGS 5 illustrate two perpendicular views of the insert carrying the cutting blade; FIGS. 6 and 7 illustrate two perpendicular views of the cutting blade.
The Kehlvorjichtung consists of a plate 1 with an arcuate extension 2, which stands out against the bottom 3 of the plate. In the middle of the plate there is a square opening 4 for receiving an insert 5 (FIGS. 4 and 5), which is offset at 6 and carries pins 7 which are used to fasten the cutting blade 8. The insert has a recess 9 in the cutting direction through which the chip can exit. The cutting blade 8 has a cutting edge 10 which is bent at an angle or in a curve and which likewise rises towards the cutting clearing. Behind the recess 9 in the cutting direction there is a bore 11 in the plate 1 for ejecting the chip.
In order to hold the insert 5 in place and to press the cutting blade 8 against the wall of the opening 4, two screws 12 and 13 are provided in the plate which are at right angles to one another. Furthermore, a handle 14, designed in the manner of a booklet and inclined towards the bottom of the plate 1, is attached to the plate.
The handling and operation of the device are as follows: In order to cut a groove out of the sole, the device is placed against the edge of the sole with stop 2 and pressed against the sole surface with the cutting edge 10 of the cutting blade 8 until the bottom 3 of the plate 1 rests against the sole surface. The distance from the bottom of the plate from the tip of the cutting blade protruding from the plate indicates the depth of the groove. Now while pressing the plate against the sole surface, the device is pulled along the edge of the sole, the plate being guided by the stop 2 and the cutting blade cutting a groove parallel to the edge of the sole out of the sole. The chip step taken out of the device through the bore 11
