  Verfahren zum Trocknen von Brennstoffen. 



   Im Stammpatent Nr. 121405 ist ein Verfahren zum Trocknen von Brennstoffen beschrieben, bei dem das durch Heissdampfkreislauf vollständig getrocknete, hocherhitzte Trockengut entweder dadurch gekühlt wird, dass es unter Sattdampf gesetzt wird, der sich am Gut überhitzt und ihm dadurch Wärme entzieht, oder dadurch, dass durch Druckerniedrigung nach der praktisch vollständigen Entfernung des Wassers nun die im Trockengut gebildeten flüchtigen Ballaststoffe teilweise verdampfen und dadurch dem Trockengut Verdampfungswärme entziehen. 



   Gemäss der vorliegenden weiteren Ausgestaltung dieser Erfindung wird unter Beibehaltung der sonstigen Merkmale des Verfahrens nach dem Stammpatent der Heissdampf mit kleinen periodischen Druckschwankungen von etwa einer halben Atmosphäre angewendet, die sich kurzzeitig wiederholen sollen. Es wird hiedurch erreicht, dass der Heissdampf nicht nur die Aussenhaut der Kohle umspült und diese erwärmt, sondern jeweils bei der Drucksteigerung auch Gelegenheit hat, in die Poren derselben einzudringen. Hiedurch wird die Stückfestigkeit der ausgebrachten Kohle weiter verbessert und von der Regelung der Temperaturdifferenz zwischen Kohle und Heissdampf weitgehend unabhängig gemacht.
