Head sizes for hollow bodies, in particular made of glass.
The invention relates to head pliers for hollow bodies, in particular made of glass, according to patent no. 116455 and consists in the profiled pliers jaw segments being arranged directly in the preform so as to be displaceable. The purpose of the invention is the formation of the glass. profils immediately following the head shaping and to prevent the jaws from jamming due to the inevitable cooling during transport from the preform to the finished form due to contraction of the cooling glass. The jaws can thus be easily moved inwards and release the head pliers or the preformed glass body without any obstacles.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment. 1 shows a longitudinal section, and FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the device.
The preform consists in a known manner of the molded body 1, in the lower end of which the split head pliers 2 is inserted. The latter rests on a preform plate 3. The pliers 2 create the outer shape of the glass head. The profiling of the inner head shape is brought about by movable jaw segments 4, which are arranged below the preform plate 3 so as to be radially displaceable. As in patent no. 116455, the profile-forming jaws are, for example, four-part and consist of two groups whose inward movement takes place one after the other. This inward movement causes their release from the glass body and releases it.
The jaws 4 merge into guide strips 5, which run in guide grooves in the preform plate 3 and are held at the bottom by a cover plate 10. On the guide strips 5 pins 6 are attached, which protrude through radial slots 11 of the preform testicle plate 3. On the top of the base plate 3, a ring 7 is rotatably arranged, in which inclined slots 8 are excluded. The pins 6 engage in these inclined slots. By turning the ring, which z. B. can be done by means of the handle 9, the pins 6, the associated guide parts S and in their continuation, the inner jaws 4 are moved inward or outward.
In order to accomplish the temporal succession of the jaw movements, the slots of the jaw group to be moved later run first a piece concentrically and then obliquely inwards, while the slots of the other jaw group

concentrically directed part 12, the associated jaws remain.
