Das Schälgut sinkt hierauf entlang der glatten Innen- oberfläche des Gehäusemantels in den trogförmig abgeschlossenen Raum unterhalb der Trommel zurück, in welchem es einerseits dem Trommelumfang von neuem zugeführt und anderseits nach der Auslauf- öffnung hin befördert wird.
