Description

  Device for reproducing sound films.

The invention relates to a modified embodiment of a device for reproducing sound films according to the parent patent.

If, as stated in the parent patent, the exposed transverse line of the sound recording is to be brought as close as possible to the selenium stain of the selenium cell, at a distance of less than 2 mm, the parts, namely the microscope objective used for exposure and the selenium cell, Not only made very small, but also extremely finely adjustable and even slight vibrations of one or the other part can cause quite unpleasant fluctuations in the tone strength. This deficiency is countered according to the invention in that the small light-sensitive surface is arranged directly on one of the edges of an opening or recess which penetrates the frame of the selenium cell and through which the light rays fall onto the film tape.

This not only allows greater freedom in the choice of the dimensions of the lens and the selenium cell, but also enables the lens to be fixed immovably in relation to the selenium cell once the setting has been made, which improves the reproduction of the sound utterances recorded on the sound film.

The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in section through the center plane of the film strip.
 EMI1.1
Electrodes 6. The light rays coming from the linear light source 1, which is perpendicular to the plane of the drawing, are collected by a microscope objective (not shown) to form a bundle of rays delimited by lines 8, 8, and a real image of the light source 1 is created at 4 on the film strip 3 The bundle of rays delimited by lines 8, 8 passes through an opening made in the frame of the selenium cell, which allows the entire bundle of rays to pass through and therefore expands towards the side of the selenium cell frame facing away from the film tape.

One side of this opening is directly adjacent to the electrodes 6, the opposite side can be open, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, but is expediently shielded in order to keep out interfering light.
