Description

Arrangement for the photographic recording of sounds or the like.
 EMI1.1
 u. Like. To record photographically on a film strip or tape. Of course, the invention can also be used when the photographic material is of any other shape.

The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the unpleasant phenomena which are usually noticeable by distortion of the reproduced sound and which are caused by stray light in the apparatus. According to the invention, it is therefore ensured that the stray light does not reach the film for recording. According to the invention, this is done in that a polarization filter is switched on in the recording beam path. Several polarization filters can of course also be provided. The effect of the polarization filter is due to the fact that the scattered light through the reflection on the glass walls of the sound optics, the lenses, mirrors and the like. Like., is polarized.

The polarization filter will therefore be set so that it allows the actual recording light to pass through, but not the light polarized on the glass walls, which distorts the recording as scattered light. For this reason, it is advisable to arrange the polarization filter either directly behind the clay lamp or directly in front of the slit or the film.

If the polarization filter is placed directly behind the clay lamp, the recording is done by means of polarized light. In this way the development of reflexes is avoided.

It must also be pointed out that if the polarization filter is set incorrectly, the recording will be distorted far more than would be possible without the polarization filter. The expert must therefore determine the most favorable setting of the filter by trying out and rotating the plane of polarization.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Arrangement for the photographic recording of tones or the like, characterized in that a polarization filter is switched on in the beam path of the recording light so that polarized light, as it is produced by reflection on the glass walls (lenses, mirrors, etc.) of the recording device not let through.
