Description
Method for making the so-called rain streaks invisible during film reproductions by means of optical brightening The invention relates to a method for invisible the so-called rain streaks caused by film damage (scratches, scrapes) when reproducing films by additional linear rays of light falling obliquely on the film according to patent 687285. According to the main patent, the rain streaks are invisible by additional mirroring-in inclined light incident on the film, that is, by optical brightening of the picture window area, in that in the vicinity of the picture window a 1littel reflecting the surrounding light, e.g. B. a mirror funnel with flat and / or curved surfaces is provided.
Investigations have now shown that the brightening can also be increased can do other ways and achieve even better results than how until now. It was found that for the lightening of Filinkratzefn and others Damage to the film, on the one hand, the intensity of the light emitted from the side, on the other hand, the angle at which the light falls on the film is also decisive is. It was found that the intensity of the light used for brightening the greater must be ever lateral e; occurs. Based on these However, the most important thing to know is (read to clear up the scratches To direct light onto the film in such a way that it passes as close as possible to the projection lens.
Uni to achieve this, according to the invention, the lighting of the Film carried out evenly and with a larger overall angle than for illumination of the projection lens is required. Be in this fold. also the under small angles on the filtn that pass by the side of the projection lens Rays used for brightening.
To carry out this method according to the invention one can Optical organ located in the illumination beam path, e.g. B. a condenser or use a mirror. This optical organ only has to be of such a nature be that the aperture is larger than the NVinlzel of the lens recorded Illuminating rays.
Contains a preferred embodiment of the inventive device an iris diaphragm, through which it is possible to adjust the illumination aperture to a certain extent To regulate limits so that the most favorable degree of lightening can be achieved. One Such a device is advantageous because of the nature of the scratches, their depth and also the properties of the film material are important in the whole brightening process and because for this reason no absolutely fixed values can be given.
An example embodiment is shown in Fig. Z. To illuminate the film t is the light source a, which on the mirror 3 on acts on the film. Part of the light passing through the film is incident the lens q., which effects the imaging of the film on the projection screen. The iris diaphragm j is used to regulate the illumination aperture. It'll be the focal length and the opening chosen so that the illumination aperture in your most favorable, through Try to determine the relationship to the projection aperture. According to experience should both apertures, provided the illumination of the film over the entire light cone behave evenly across the board like 3: 2.
Di: inventive device is here only in the case of film projection described. It is wrong to use the same device for similar devices To apply purposes; z. B. for playback of sound recordings.
Here is the image from a large aperture condenser system illuminated sound recording on the scanning gap a lens of smaller aperture arranged, and it is behind the scanning gap in a known manner, the photocell appropriate.
In devices for the optical copying of "ion recordings, especially those devices in which the sound strip is reduced as normal film to narrow film or, conversely, enlarged from narrow film to. \ Local film, the device according to the invention is expediently used in such a way that it is with Such a device is shown in FIG. 2 and consists of an illumination lamp 6, the light of which falls on a condenser 7. In the immediate vicinity of the condenser 7, a gap 8 is provided which is used for the It is used to illuminate the film 13. It is imaged onto the film by means of an objective 9, this objective 9 being connected to an adjustable iris diaphragm to. «-Which serves to image the objective 9 in the objective 1z, the 01r jective 12 realizing the actual enlargement or reduction of the negative sound strip on the positive film.
