Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Emulsion für Gerbeieizwecke.
 EMI1.1

  Emulsion for tanning purposes.
 EMI1.1
 To form emulsions.

These emulsions can be used with advantage in tannery.

Freshly precipitated, moist aluminum hydroxide has proven to be particularly favorable as a metal hydroxide. By using it, a much finer emulsion of greater stability can be produced than when using clay in a finely divided dry state.

It has also been shown to be advantageous to use urea, which has a favorable effect on the coloration when the emulsion is used in the tannery.

For example, it works as follows:
10 kg of hoof oil are intimately mixed with 1 kg of freshly precipitated, well washed, moist aluminum hydroxide. The result is an emulsion which, if necessary, e.g. B. for tannery wheat, still receives a corresponding addition of water and still remains in colloidal solution.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Emulsion for tanning purposes, consisting of fat or oil and finely divided inorganic substances, characterized in that a freshly precipitated metal hydroxide is used as the emulsifier.
