   Es wurde die bemerkenswerte Beobachtung gemacht, dass die Homologen des Pyridins vorzügliche Mittel zur Vertilgung von   Vorratsschädlingen,   insbesondere des Kornkäfers, sind. Sie übertreffen in letzterer Hinsicht bei weitem den für die Vertilgung von Kornkäfern als Spezifikum empfohlenen Schwefelkohlenstoff und sogar die Blausäure und ihre Derivate, wie z. B. den Cyankohlensäureester, das Cyclon. Diese Wirkung ist in hohem Grade überraschend, da der Kornkäfer äusserst widerstandsfähig ist.

   In der Münchener Medizinischen   Woehensehrift   1920, S. 780, ist unter Versuch 4, Absatz 2, der Satz aufgenommen :"Den Versuch überlebten wiederum die Kornkäfer, diese Form hat sich auch gegen alle bis jetzt geprüften Giftstoffe als ausserordentlich resistent erwiesen."
