Fig. 2) in die Form versenkt.

0 in ihrer
Lage festgehalten.

EMI1.1
It is known that in locomotive rod bearings, the soft metal castings become loose despite the cast-in swai tail grooves. The inconvenience is effectively remedied by making transverse channels in the bearing shells through which the soft metal can flow from one dovetail groove to the other, encompass a gunmetal strip and shrink it onto it.
The attachment of such channels can easily be achieved by placing individual cores on the main core. However, this method is associated with difficulties in that the relatively thin individual grain is easily distorted when drying in the oven; In addition, this process is very expensive and therefore uneconomical due to increased manual labor.
In the core molding apparatus described below. whose individual parts are advantageously made of gunmetal, these disadvantages and additional work are eliminated. The forming of the core with channels takes place in one operation in the same time. as has been the case since then with the molding of the core without channels, only with the difference that segments with recesses that form channels are inserted into the jacket of the core molding device. The shaped rings required to form the dovetail grooves can be pulled out through these recesses, so that sand bridges remain after the segments have been removed, which form the channels in the bearing shells after casting.
The invention is shown in the drawing in two exemplary embodiments. Fig. 1 is a cross-section along x-x 'through the core shape. FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section along y-yl (in the upper left part, however, a partial view in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 1), FIG. 3 shows an interior view of the core mold. FIG. 4 is a partial section along z-z of FIG. 1.
In Fig. 1-3, A represents the removable core mold shell, in which the segments C provided with recesses B (cf. FIGS. 1 and 2) are inserted against a central stop H in conical cavities. The guide ring D lying over the recesses B guides the shaped ring E, which is first pulled out at its handle F after the core cavity M has been stamped out with molding sand. The guide ring D, which is advantageously dovetail-shaped or similar, is guided against lateral displacement and lifting at the end J, as shown in FIG. 4 (see also FIG. 3), and at its end K (see FIG. 2 ) sunk into the mold. At its handle G it can also be pulled out, u. between only after removal of the molded ring E.
To lift off the core box shell si, the mold is tipped over after a plate has been placed on it; After the jacket, the segments C are removed individually, so that instead of the recesses B, core sand bridges remain, which are to form the channels in the gunmetal bearings to be cast.
Instead of lifting the segments individually by hand, although it can happen that the core sand bridges are damaged when they are lifted, they can be combined in two or more and arranged to pivot around axes of rotation in different directions. This arrangement can be implemented in various ways.

In the drawings 5-8 two execution arrangements are shown for example:
Fig. 5 shows a cross section through the core shape according to a; -a; Fig. 6, Fig. 6 is a half longitudinal section along y-yl of Fig. 5 and half a view; Fig. 7 is a cross section along a? -A; of Fig. 5, but without the segments and mold rings of the core mold.

and unified to the left and fitted in a pivotable manner around hinge P. The
Segments are od on both sides by the seat on the jacket A bolt. Like. 0 in their
Location held.
After the core cavity M has been stamped out with molding sand and the rings E and D have been removed, the segments C are released by releasing the bolt 0 and now automatically pivot around the axis of rotation at P due to their own gravity down out of the core mold shell A. On a wooden base U u. The like. Or on the jacket A itself resilient stops or the like are provided, which lock the falling segments. so that they do not fall back when the grain shape is tipped over to remove the entire sand core.
In FIG. 8, two segment parts C1, C2 are united by means of a joint B and, after the core shape has been tipped over and the jacket A has been lifted off, they can be around the by means of a handle S
Axes l 'or T' are pivoted away from the core sand bridges. Instead of two segments, they can also be combined with one another in a more articulated manner and made pivotable together.
