Fig. 1 zeigt die bisher übliche Bauart.

Bogie and motor arrangement for electric locomotives with axle reduction motors.
On every locomotive, when the pulling force is exerted on the towing hook, there is a strong change in the pressure. This weight shift comes about because the tensile force that is applied to the draw hook, d. H. attacks at a considerable distance from the upper edge of the rail, forms a force couple with their counterforce between the wheel and rail, which relieves the front axles in the direction of travel and additionally loads the rear axles. The weight transfer is greater, the greater the pulling force and the height of the towing hook and the smaller the wheelbase.
At the moment of arrival, i. H. when the greatest tensile force is to be exerted, only part of the axle pressure is available on individual axles. The effect is particularly damaging on locomotives with single-axle drives because the wheelset that is relieved of the load will skid. as soon as the friction limit is reached, although the other axes are still away from the skid limit. However, if one axis spins first, the approach is disturbed and must be interrupted. The result is as if all axes were relieved in the same way.
The invention is based on the fact that in electric bogie locomotives with axle countershaft motors, the drive bogies of which do not contain a running axle, the relief of the foremost axles can be significantly reduced in that the upper frame is supported in the longitudinal direction of the locomotive in two or more support points on each bogie and at the same time the Motors in each bogie in the same direction, i.e. either in each bogie towards the middle of the locomotive or from the middle of the locomotive.
In Fig. 1 to 3 the invention is explained using the example of an electric overburden locomotive in which the weight shift is particularly sharp as a result of the high tensile forces and the very small bogie wheelbase.
Fig. 1 shows the previously common design. The upper frame b is supported on each frame with the aid of a ball pivot c, which also forms the pivot point and which at the same time absorbs the tensile force exerted by the drive axles d of the bogie. In terms of weight transfer, the bogie is

The upper edge of the rail, a bogie wheelbase 1, and an axle tension Z, the relief Al of the foremost axle is given by the equation:

certainly. In this case and in all of the following equations, an increase in the axial pressure is indicated with a positive sign (+) and a decrease with a negative sign (-).
If, in example 1, the axle pressure is in the initial state, i. i. before the tensile force is exerted Ao = 10,000 kg and the tensile force of each axis Z =%. Ao = 2500 kg, for the usual construction dimensions hui = 0'8 m and 11 = 1'6 m the relief of the foremost axle:

Points e on each bogie (Fig. 2, 3), so the bogie frame can no longer move freely against the upper frame b about the horizontal transverse axis. Rather, the bogie must participate in all movements of the upper frame in the vertical longitudinal plane.
For movements in this plane, the effect is equivalent to mounting the drive axles in a common continuous frame without bogies.
EMI2.3
d. i. the play of forces on the drive motor and its suspension, because the vehicle is supported in the longitudinal direction in four points and the axle pressures can therefore no longer be determined from the balance of external forces alone, as in example 1.
The axle countershaft motor (FIG. 4) rests in pawl bearings on the drive axle d and is also resiliently suspended on the bogie frame on the side facing away from the axle cl. The motor t exerts a torque Z. r on the wheelset, with the tensile force Z acting in the direction of travel on the one hand between the wheel and the rail forward on the wheelset and on the other hand in the axle bearing guide acting downwards on it.
The equilibrium in the system drawn, motor and wheel set, requires that a force F pressing down on the motor according to the equation is then applied to the motor suspension:
EMI2.4
occurs, which manifests itself on the wheelset in an increase in the immediate part of the axle pressure of size F that is not transmitted by the suspension springs, while on the locomotive frame
EMI2.5
Size works.
The directions of force apply to one in the direction of travel in front of the axle it drives
EMI2.6
The size of F is, for example, with a wheel radius) '= 0'45)? and a distance of the engine suspension from the driving axis s = 0'75? :
EMI2.7
After this preparation, the balance of the additional forces on the frame can be calculated.
Let us first treat an axle and motor arrangement as example 2 in which the axle countershaft motors are suspended towards the ends of the bogie as in Fig. 1, but in which the upper frame is supported in the longitudinal direction at two or more points on each bogie (Fig. 2).
On the Lokoniotivrahmen the tensile force 4Z on the draw hook act rearwardly and its counterforces 4.Z in the axle bearing guides - these as reactions to the rearwardly directed forces Z in Fig. 4 forward, as well as the forces F'in the points of application of the engine mountings.
The forces Z together form a moment on the frame:
EMI2.8
which acts to relieve the front bogie and is therefore given a negative sign. Here h is the distance q of the draw hook from the top of the rail.
The forces F ', which are also entered in Fig. 2, result in the moment:
EMI2.9
Both moments add up to the resulting frame moment:
EMI2.10
. Here, according to equations (3) and (4): F '. s = Z. r, so then:
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
EMI3.1
becomes.
If in the example h2 = 0'6 m, then:
EMI3.2
This frame moment is absorbed by the additional suspension spring forces. When using equalizing levers of the same name, the springs of a bogie may be combined in the middle of the center distance to form an ideal support point, whereby the distance of the support point
EMI3.3
Bogie is then determined from the following equations:
EMI3.4
The additional rail pressures can finally be found according to the following table by adding the additional suspension spring forces P and the changes in the immediate part of the axle load F not transmitted by the springs, these being due to the motor arrangement in front of and behind the driven axles on the first and third Driving axis + F for the second and fourth driving axis - F is:

from the axle pressure at rest. There was therefore no significant improvement compared to Example 1.
Now, as example 3, an arrangement is calculated in which the locomotive frame is also supported in the longitudinal direction m two or more points on each bogie, but in which the axle countershaft motors according to the invention, viewed from the center of the locomotive, in the same direction, 11th or the center of the locomotive are arranged (Fig. 3).
The moments of the additional forces on the frame are then
EMI3.7
The additional forces on the suspension springs are:

The changes in the direct load on the first and second axles are -F and on the third and fourth axles + F. The table therefore applies to example 3:

In this case, axis 1 and 2 are equally relieved, u. between the axle pressure change is:

do not give a favorable value of the axle relief if the upper frame is supported in two or more points in the longitudinal direction on each bogie.
In contrast, when motors are arranged in the same direction from the center of the locomotive, the changes in the axial pressure of the two bogie axes are always the same. On this condition

of the ball stud h1 can be used, which in turn results in the calculation of the favorable values of the axle relief from example 3:

It makes no difference whether the motors are suspended from the center of the locomotive or from the center of the locomotive.
