<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Power machine, especially internal combustion engine, mounted on a two-wheeled cart.
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
So now you are on three wheels and you fix them by any suitable means, for example using washers, brakes, etc.
The arrangement of the shaft in the longitudinal direction of the cart has the advantage that no restriction of the machine or shaft length is necessary, as is the case when the shaft runs crosswise and the machine is to lie between the two running wheels, because one under under these circumstances the engagement of a gearbox d must be dispensed with. In addition, this machine position allows a symmetrical arrangement of all parts with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cart.
Furthermore, the km bel for starting the machine is at the head end of the cart, so it is always easily accessible.
EMI2.1
Adjusting the cart by hand is very easy, because it rests on two running shutters and a support leg that prevents the cart from rolling forward, but acts transversely as a wheel and enables one end of the cart to move. Usually such carts are provided with two supports, one of which is attached in front of and one behind the pair of wheels. If these two

and then fix the brace to achieve proper tension on the belt.
The length of the support leg can be made variable for the purpose of adjustment in height by using the segment forming the support leg according to FIG. 2, the radius of curvature of which corresponds approximately to the mean width or the average length, and a radially extending rod 12 which is rigidly attached the hub / support wheel is seated. The segment 11 can slide on the rod /
EMI2.3
you have it in your hand to put the machine exactly horizontally even if the cart is to be set up on a sloping floor.
Another embodiment with height adjustment of the wheel support is illustrated in FIG. 3.
Here the segment 11 sits rigidly on the Speiohenstange jss and this is guided in a hole in the hub f2. The hub f3 is provided with a screw / which can be turned by the handwheel f40 in such a way that it increases or decreases the distance of the segment from the hub. The screw can be set in each setting by an eccentric / s. This device allows the most precise adjustment of the machine in the horizontal direction. For this purpose one only needs to pivot the eccentric, adjust the screw and bring the eccentric back into the position of FIG.
For driving, of course, the support leg and its segment must be raised. To this
EMI2.4
of the handwheel 140 can be lifted, the segment 11 therefore rises in height, whereupon the eccentric can be inserted into a cutout 10 provided on the spoke rod 12 so that the eccentric maintains the support leg in the raised position while driving.
Furthermore, a device for precise regulation of the belt tension and precise adjustment of the drive pulley relative to the driven pulley can be provided.
For this purpose, the hub / is provided with a device which enables the support to be swiveled automatically and to be fixed in the desired setting. In Fig. 4, the device is designated by g. A sleeve gl, in which screw g2 is seated, is articulated to segment il.
This is provided with a small handwheel g20 and mounted in a ball bearing g3, which sits on one of the bars lJ2 of the cart. With this device, the segment can inevitably be swiveled and the belt tensioned as required. The segment can be raised and lowered in any way, for example in the manner shown in FIG.
FIG. 5 shows another embodiment of the inevitable pivoting of the support about the axis b1. Here the bar / is considerably lengthened upwards so that you have a long lever with which you can bring your foot to 11. weigh it on the floor and thus tension the belt. The rod / slides in a guide 13. which also serves as a hub. Its pivot bl sits in two crossbars of the cart, one of which, b4, is visible in the drawing. A clamping device 130 is used, for example, to fix the rod in the guide f3 and to fix the angle
EMI2.5
pawls b400 and b4000 engage. The former is shown in its effective position, the latter in its inoperative position.
The devices according to FIGS. 1-5 show a slight inconvenience in that when the segment 11 is acted on, the plane of the drive pulley is shifted by a small amount, which has to be taken into account from the outset. In order to counteract this insignificant inconvenience, one can provide a device by which the body of the cart against the pair of wheels
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
can be moved transversely so that you can move not only the front part, but also the rear part of the cart opposite the receiving pulley and thus set the position of the drive pulley as desired. Any device that allows moving can be used for this.
A device serving this purpose, connected to an elastic support device, is shown in FIG. On the two spars b2 and b3 of the cart frame a U-shaped bent flat iron i is attached. Rectangular openings or slots t are provided in its legs.
EMI3.1
a lamellar spring j is attached to this, the length and shape of which is such that the ends of its main lamella pressing on the axis h protrude through the openings mentioned. In the middle of the axis h, a sleeve-shaped, elongated nut k, into which the screw l provided with the handwheel P is screwed, is articulated to this. This is maintained in its longitudinal direction by a ball bearing seated on the flake iron.
By turning the handwheel you can move the flat iron i so that the free spring ends slide on the axis. As a result, the cart frame is shifted to the right or left between the pair of wheels as desired; it is therefore up to you to precisely set the level of the delivery pulley.
If the cart axis h is not horizontal on uneven ground, it can happen that the frame is inclined in the transverse direction, which could impair the good working of the machine.
In order to remedy this, a device is also provided according to the invention with which the plane of the frame can be adjusted with respect to the inclined axis plane. Such a device is also illustrated in FIG. It consists of two vertical screws m, the nuts of which sit rigidly on both sides of the frame and whose lower end presses on the axis A. In Fig. 6 only one of these two screws is shown, namely on the right side, the left has been omitted in order not to obscure the representation of the handwheel 11. Another advantage of these screws in an elastically supported frame is that they keep the vibrations around a longitudinal axis behind, which movements occur when the machine is working as a result of its jerky operation.
If you want to use coil springs instead of lamellar springs, which are significantly lighter in weight, to support the frame, you can attach them so that they are guided along their entire length. This ensures that these springs, when their lower ends slide on the carriage axis h, do not incline in the direction of slide. 7 and 8 show an embodiment of this elastic frame mounting. On a transverse flat iron i (Fig. 7) a pipe

Axis h through so that it is passed through the slot. A stop bolt p (Fig. 7), which is inserted in the lower slotted part of the tube at right angles to the direction of the axis, can limit the resilient swinging up of the pipe socket n with respect to the cart axle h.
A thick rubber tube is expediently pushed onto this bolt p, so that the impact of the axle against the bolt is dampened. A further embodiment consists in the fact that a means is attached in order to be able to clamp the cart axle h between the arms of the pipe formed by the slot, for example a screw. The bolt p can expediently be used for this purpose if, according to FIG. 8, it is provided with a screw thread at one end and a handle at the other end. This makes it possible to clamp the cart axle after its vertical adjustment by means of the adjusting screws m in the slots 10, so that when the prime mover is working, any possibility of the cart frame dancing in relation to the cart axle is avoided.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A power machine, in particular an internal combustion engine, mounted on a two-wheeled cart, the power output shaft of which is mounted approximately in the longitudinal direction of the cart frame, the cart having a foot that supports it only in the working position, characterized in that this support foot is in the form of a wheel or wheel segment (fil ) which wheel or wheel segment is articulated to an approximately horizontal axle mounted in a cart frame part (b4) approximately in the longitudinal direction of the cart,
so that when this support leg rests on the ground, a transverse displacement of the end of the cart for the purpose of more precise adjustment of the position of the machine axis is achieved by a slight pivoting of the same about said axis.
