Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Process for the extraction of condensable substances from chemicals with air or with other difficult to adsorb gases.

   The subject of the parent patent no.100854 is a process for obtaining condensable substances from mixtures with air or with other gases that are difficult to adsorb by adsorption, whereby the vapors bound by the adsorbent are driven off with the help of a gaseous transport medium that is not condensable at the relevant temperature and by cooling be condensed, which method is characterized in that the original mixture to be broken down is used as a means of transport by passing it over the saturated adsorption mass, which is also heated at the same time, and then passing it through a cooler connected to the adsorption vessel.

   According to a particular embodiment of this process, with the uninterrupted flow of the original gas-vapor mixture, each adsorption element is activated alternately for absorbing and releasing the vapors.

   In a further development of this method it has now been found that it is advantageous. to use the initial mixture, saturated with water vapors, to expel the vapors bound by adsorption, thereby greatly accelerating the complete expulsion of the adsorbed vapors.

   For this purpose, it is sufficient to let the flow of the original gas-steam mixture to be broken down through heated water, the temperature of which is to be kept at about 60-90 C, before it is introduced into the saturated adsorption mass. The small amounts of water vapors entrained in this way are condensed in the cooler with the condensable components to be recovered. The adsorption mass does not need to be dried before being used again for adsorption. This already distinguishes the process advantageously from the known evaporation of the saturated adsorption mass. Above all, however, there is no steam generation here; The available waste heat is sufficient to heat the water even in the smallest of companies.

   The condensate is drained in a known manner.
