Trockenbeizmittel.

Dry mordant.
Various types of fungicides are used for dry dressing. In order to achieve a uniform impregnation of the seed with the per se small amount of such a dry dressing agent, it is necessary that the fungicides to be used have an extremely fine powdery, dusty consistency. This has the disadvantage that the dusting of the fungicide is a major nuisance for the farmer. The dry pickling is carried out in partly primitive, partly poorly closing devices; In addition, when the device is emptied, the dressed seeds must be filled into a sack and transferred to the seed drill again.
In all of these operations, when the previous dry dressing agents are used, extremely intensive dusting takes place, which is particularly disadvantageous because the toxins that may be contained in the dressing agent could cause damage to health with insufficient care.
It has now been found that the inconvenience of dusting the dry dressing agent can be remedied in a simple manner by adding small amounts of oil. For example, a mixture of this type, suitable as a dry pickling agent, consisting of 30 parts of copper carbonate, 30 parts of resinous salt, 5 parts of phenylarsinic acid and 32 parts of kieselguhr, can be changed in its properties by adding 3 parts of oil, so that the same is probably still extremely fine

but has completely lost its highly dusting properties. In the same way, agents containing mercury or other compound fungicides can be mixed with oil and their highly dusty properties can be eliminated without reducing the effectiveness of the agents.
With a dry dressing agent impregnated with oil, which no longer has any dusting properties, even without using any pickling apparatus, the dry dressing can simply be carried out in such a way that a certain heap of grain, e.g. B. 1 q wheat seeds, the corresponding amount Trockenbeizmittcl, z. B. pours out 150 g and by subsequently shoveling the heap of grain exactly as it was carried out in the previous wetting process, distributes the dressing agent with the grain.
