Saatbeize.
B. in Betracht : p-Chlorphenylquecksilberaeetat (Journal of the American ehem. Soc.

Seed dressing.
The parent patent no. 126995 relates to a seed dressing which consists of mercurated aromatic hydrocarbons of the general formula R-Hg-X, where R is any aryl radical, X is hydroxyl or any acid radical. The effectiveness of the compounds mentioned exceeds the known acidic and basic mercury compounds when used as a seed dressing.
In the further course of the investigation it was found that mercuration products of such aromatic compounds, which are substituted in the nucleus by halogen, nitro, alkoxy, carboxyalkyl or sulfonilide groups, have excellent fungicidal value and are even more compatible with the seeds than the compounds of the parent patent, if the substituent is indifferent. Such products of mercury include: B. in consideration: p-Chlorophenylmercury acetate (Journal of the American former. Soc. Volume 45, p. 1325), the nitro group, the mercuration products of nitrobenzene (reports of the German Chemical Society, Volume 35, p. 2036), p-anisylmercury acetate (Reports of the German Chemical Society, Volume 35, p. 2867) u. like
Instead of the acetates, other salts can also be used, e.g. B. halides, nitrates, cyanides, chromates, etc. The use of these products for dressing seeds is done in the same way as described in the parent patent.
Example 1.
EMI1.1
EMI1.2
1'5% Hg is reduced, 2: 1000 dusted on fusarium rye, resulted in greenhouse tests a emergence of 84% plants with a fusarin infestation of 1%. In contrast, the untreated rye ran up with 71% with a Fusarium attack of 25%.
Example 2.
EMI1.3
A dry dressing agent containing 2.5% Hg as anisyl-Hg-acetate, dusted 2: 1000, gave a casserole of 80% and 6% Fusarium, while untreated rye only had a casserole of 65% and a Fusarium infestation of 15%. Phenethylqueekilver acetate worked equally well.
With a setting of 3'5% mercury as anisyl or phenetyl mercury acetate, neither the germination capacity nor the driving force is damaged.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Seed dressing according to parent patent no. 126995, characterized in that mercuration products of those aromatic compounds are used, the aryl radical of which is substituted by halogen, nitro, alkoxy, carboxyalkyl or sulfanilide groups.
