So fallen z.

Process for the production of colored lacquers.
It is known that tannin plays an important role as a precipitating agent for basic colorants. But it shows various evils. So fall z. For example, the dyes on the substrates initially appear as clear as water, but when the paint is left to settle, some of them go into solution again and can no longer be precipitated by adding new tannin. This bleeding of the varnish can be improved (if not completely eliminated) by adding Breehweinstein, but this makes the varnishes more expensive.
Another disadvantage of the tannin oil is its sensitivity to lime.
EMI1.1
Precipitants uncolored sulphurisation products of phenol, its homologues and substitution products such as halophenols or phenol carboxylic acids or the condensation products of these phenols with aldehydes are used.
The production of a number of the sulfur products mentioned is described in Austrian Patent No. 99,792. According to the process of this patent, phenols, their homologues and substitution products are exposed to sulfur for a prolonged period of time, about 30 hours, in the presence of alkalis, as a result of which they convert into thio derivatives which can be used for the precipitation of basic dyes in place of tannin.
