Post insulator.
It is known that post insulators for high voltages, which are cylindrical or conically shaped hollow bodies of revolution, are poured inside with an insulating material for the purpose of avoiding the high stress that the air inside the insulator would be exposed to. This high load does not extend evenly over the entire interior of the insulator, but is greatest in the immediate vicinity of the live parts on the head of the insulator and becomes smaller and smaller after the grounded foot. It would be sufficient if the air was replaced by a better insulating material only in the area of the highest stress, i.e. on the head.
Such an arrangement is the subject of the present invention. The separation of the cast-in insulating material (e.g. compound) from the air is achieved according to the invention by a web arranged perpendicular to the axis. The advantages of this post insulator are primarily the saving of a large part of the high-quality pouring material, without in any way impairing the effects achieved by the previously known insulators with completely poured interior. Such an isolator is shown in the drawing. The web b is produced at the same time as the actual insulator a. This embodiment is useful for insulators made from ceramic materials. In such
