Electric starting pre-lighting for internal combustion engines.
Electrical cranking devices for internal combustion engines have already become known in which the screw spindle of a spring-loaded pinion is screwed inside the armature shaft. In the case of such turning devices, the screw connection used to achieve the displacement is either fixed on the pinion side or releasably on the side opposite the pinion side. The first-mentioned type of electrical cranking devices has the disadvantage that, on the one hand, the parts of the cranking device lying in the hollow armature axis are not accessible. B. is required for a repair, and on the other hand, the pinion and the spindle cannot be replaced, so that the turning device is only suitable for the direction of rotation that has been determined once.
With the second-mentioned type of turning devices, the pinion can be removed after loosening the nut, but the arrangement of the nut at the other end of the spindle opposite the pinion requires a long design of the turning device, which is not only unfavorable due to its length; rather, the attack of the nut on the spindle is extremely unfavorable due to the great distance from the pinion, so that twisting of the spindle axis cannot be ruled out.
The turning device according to the invention now combines the advantages of the devices mentioned in the introduction, but without their disadvantages. This is achieved in that the screw connection located in a known manner on the pinion side consists of a replaceable nut arranged within the armature shaft, whereby not only a replacement of individual z. B. defective parts, but also replacing the entire set of sprockets, d. H. Pinion with spindle, springs and nut, is possible against another pinion set, which again has the great advantage that one and the same turning device can be used for left and right rotation by simply exchanging the entire pinion set.
The invention is shown in the drawing in two exemplary embodiments.
Fig. 1 shows in longitudinal section part of an electric starter motor provided with the innovation, while Fig. 2 shows another embodiment.
Inside the hollow armature shaft e of an electric starter motor g lies a screw spindle h, which carries a drive pinion b at the outer end, while buffer springs c and d sit on the part lying inside the armature shaft e.
According to the invention, an exchangeable nut n is provided within the hollow armature shaft e, after the removal of which the entire set of pinions can be exchanged. In order to reduce the impact occurring when the screw spindle A decreases, a ring f or the like made of elastic material is provided. While according to the embodiment of FIG. 1, the pinion b is pushed out when engaging, d. H. is moved outwards, the pinion b of Fig. 2 moves in the opposite direction during engagement, i.e. H. inward.
