Luftreiniger für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen.
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Air purifiers for internal combustion engines.
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
It is not absolutely necessary that the liquid used to assist in cleaning is used as a veil or vapor, but one could also move the air to be cleaned (or the mixture) over a liquid level, which also absorbs a lot of the impurities. The enrichment of the combustion air with water vapor is of great advantage.
Deviating from the illustrated embodiment, the device can easily be made so that for the air to be fed to the combustion process of the machine, wholly or partly that air is used which has flowed through the cooler and is warmed by it. It is then advisable to make the air supply switchable and controllable. Naturally, the air purification forming the subject of the invention can also be used with advantage in machines with water cooling and air-cooled machines.
If pre-compression of the mixture is used, e.g. B. in two-stroke engines, the centrifugal fan used for compression or as a charge pump, as shown, can be designed so that it also cleans the air without the need for special organs.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Air cleaner for internal combustion engines, in particular on vehicles, characterized in that the housing of the Sehleudergebläses serving for air movement is divided into two parts, namely a central channel connected to the inlet pipe of the machine and a channel encompassing this channel, with a dust collector closed to the outside connected channel, and that a blade system is connected between the impeller circumference and the housing, the blades of which are designed so that they guide the air jets emerging from the impeller due to their kinetic energy laterally into the dust collector channel, while they are strongly curved in front of the central channel, so that the Air before it enters this channel by a special force, namely the static pressure gradient,
must be deflected from their direction of movement.
