Fuel mixing device for internal combustion engines.
The present invention relates to a fuel mixing device for internal combustion engines which is switched into the suction line between the carburetor and the engine.
The drawing shows in Fig. 1 the device in section; FIGS. 2 and 3 show the mixing wheel in elevation and in plan.
The device consists of a housing 1, in the interior of which on the edge of a circular, rotatable about the center disc 6 narrow rectangular sheet metal strips 5 in larger. Number are fixed in such a way that the longitudinal sides of the same are parallel to the axis of the circular disc, while the narrow sides are inclined in the radial direction such that the edges of two adjacent sheet metal strips overlap. The free ends of the sheet metal strips protrude into an annular groove 7 in the housing 1.
The disk 6 with the sheet metal strips 5 either rotates about the axis 4 or can be connected to the same, in which case the axis in the bearings 2 and. 3 is running.
The operation of the device is as follows: As a result of the suction effect of the engine, fuel and fresh air from the carburetor flows through the pipe socket 9 into the interior of the housing 1 and around the disk 6 in the Pleilrichtung from the outside towards the center. In this case, the sucked-in mixture brushes around the metal strips located on the edge of the disc 6 and slides on their side surfaces and edges, whereby any fuel droplets that are still carried along are finely divided and mixed with air.
So that the flow resistance of the fuel mixture through the sheet metal strips is as low as possible, the disk 6, which carries the sheet metal strips 5, is arranged to be easily rotatable, whereby the latter are flexible in pressure, and with a corresponding distance of the disk 6 from the housing wall and the
Groove 7 only the low rotational resistance of the disc itself comes into consideration.
Since the Seheibe 6 with the sheet metal strips 5 in rapid rotary motion with full suction flow, fuel particles can be thrown outwards under the action of centrifugal force. However, because the mixture is sucked off above the center of the disc 6 and from the area of the sheet metal strips, the direction of flow of the sucked-in mixture above this disc is opposite to the centrifugal force and fuel particles, for example, are thrown off and immediately caught again by the flowing mixture.
This arrangement of the suction from the center of the mixing element prevents fuel from being thrown onto the housing walls and the formation of eddies in the mixture and the flow resistance are reduced to a minimum.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Fuel mixing device for internal combustion engines, characterized in that the atomization of the fuel and mixing with the air is carried out by a rotatably mounted disc (6), on the edge of which sheet metal strips (5) inclined to the direction of flow of the mixture are fastened on one side.
