Device for the mechanical application of wax on fabrics, paper, etc. Like., In particular for the production of batik patterns on paper wallpaper.

In the previously used batik process, the wax is transferred by hand onto paper or fabric.

A process has already been proposed to transfer wax reserves by direct means. However, since molten wax printing was not feasible on the mechanical printing machines, this method was limited to hand printing. This disadvantage is caused by the use of the special plates or rollers forming the subject of the invention for applying the wax to fabric, paper and the like. the like. avoided.

The transfer can take place in the following way: The wax or a mixture of several types of wax is melted in vessel A. The application roller B takes the appropriate amount of wax either directly or with the aid of intermediate rollers from the container A and transfers part of it to the forming roller C, on which the pattern to be printed is cut, milled, etched, burned in or poured. The paper or the material D is pressed against the forming roller C by means of an adjustable pressure roller E and is pulled on by appropriate devices.

The application roller B can, however, also receive the necessary amount of wax by means of special devices, tubes, blowers, etc.

Suitable devices prevent the wax from cooling below its melting point.

The forming roller, or the coating of the same, consists of a porous body, fabric made of fibers, hair or wool, or of wood, plaster of paris, pumice stone, clay or meerschaum.
