Abstract
Se proporciona un método para la producción de hierro de reducción directa que tiene un mayor contenido de carbono, que comprende: el suministro de una corriente de gas rica en monóxido de carbono y la separación de la corriente de gas rica en monóxido de carbono en por lo menos dos corrientes de gas ricas en monóxido de carbono separadas; el suministro de una corriente de gas rica en hidrocarburos y la separación de la corriente de gas rica en hidrocarburos en por lo menos dos corrientes de gas ricas en hidrocarburos separadas; la mezcla de una de las corrientes de gas ricas en monóxido de carbono con una de las corrientes de gas ricas en hidrocarburos para formar una corriente de gas de carburación mixta; la mezcla de otra corriente de gas rica en monóxido de carbono de las por lo menos dos corrientes de gas ricas en monóxido de carbono separadas con otra corriente de gas rica en hidrocarburos de las por lo menos dos corrientes de gas ricas en hidrocarburos separadas para formar una corriente de gas de carburación mixta distinta; la entrega de cada una de las corrientes de gas de carburación mixtas, que son de diferente composición, a una zona de transición de un horno de reducción directa, y la exposición de óxido de hierro de manera parcial o completa reducido a las corrientes de gas de carburación mixtas para aumentar el contenido de carbono del hierro de reducción directa resultante a más de 4,5% en peso.
