Abstract
Un proceso para la síntesis de lactamas adecuado para su uso en composiciones antimicrobianas, antibiopelícula y bacteriostáticas. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para la síntesis de una lactama, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: (a) una condensación de aldol entre un iniciador de acetona y ácido glioxálico; (b) tratar el o los productos de la etapa (a) con cloruro de tionilo; (c) hacer reaccionar el producto de la etapa (b) con amoníaco o una amina primaria, o una sal del mismo, para proporcionar una lactama; en donde la etapa (c) implica la adición de amoníaco o una amina primaria, o sal del mismo, al producto de la etapa (b). Reivindicación 2: El proceso de acuerdo con la reivindicación 1, caracterizado porque la etapa (c) usa amoníaco, opcionalmente en donde la etapa (c) usa amoníaco acuoso concentrado. Reivindicación 3: El proceso de acuerdo con cualquier reivindicación precedente, caracterizado porque el proceso comprende además: (d) deshidratación del producto de lactama de la etapa (c) para proporcionar una lactama que tiene un grupo exometileno.
