Abstract
La presente proporciona un método para convertir un material que contiene cobre a un blíster de cobre que comprende: (a) proporcionar material que contiene cobre que comprende sulfuro de cobre y sulfuro de hierro, en donde el material que contiene cobre comprende al menos 35 por ciento en peso de cobre del peso total del material que contiene cobre; (b) hacer reaccionar el material que contiene cobre en un horno con gas que contiene oxígeno en un horno, en la ausencia de fundente, para producir la oxidación de sulfuro de hierro y sulfuro de cobre, y controlar la inyección del gas que contiene oxígeno y la temperatura de modo que la escoria resultante del convertidor se encuentra en una fase fundida para obtener cobre blíster y escoria del convertidor.
