Abstract
Un sistema y método para controlar una válvula aumenta la disponibilidad de un ensamblaje de válvula de control utilizado en un proceso de control. Se dispone un par de posicionadores en una configuración de alta disponibilidad y se acoplan individualmente a un controlador. Un primer posicionador incluye una salida acoplada a un interruptor y un segundo posicionador incluye una salida acoplada al interruptor. Se monitorea el estado operativo del primer posicionador y la salida del primer o segundo posicionador que se permite que pase a través del interruptor hacia la válvula de control depende del estado operativo del primer posicionador.
