Abstract
Se proporcionan métodos y composiciones para mejorar la resistencia a las enfermedades fúngicas y/o resistencia a los nematodos en diversas plantas de cultivo. También se proporcionan combinaciones de métodos y composiciones para mejorar la resistencia a las enfermedades fúngicas y/o resistencia a los nematodos en diversas plantas de cultivo. Reivindicación 1: Un método para producir una planta que presente una mejora en la resistencia a las enfermedades fúngicas y/o a los nematodos que comprende la aplicación tópica a la superficie de una planta de una composición que comprende: a) al menos un polinucleótido que comprende al menos 18 nucleótidos contiguos que son esencialmente idénticos o esencialmente complementarios a un gen PMR5 o a una transcripción de dicho gen; y b) un agente de transferencia, en el cual dicha planta presenta una mejora en la resistencia a las enfermedades fúngicas y/o a los nematodos que deriva de la supresión de dicho gen PMR5. Reivindicación 2: El método de la reivindicación 1 en el cual dicha molécula de polinucleótidos comprende ssDNA (ADN monocatenario) sentido, ssRNA (ARN monocatenario) sentido, dsRNA (ARN bicatenario), dsDNA (ADN bicatenario), un híbrido de ADN/ARN de cadena doble, ssDNA antisentido o ssRNA antisentido.
