Abstract

Un proceso para obtener ácido acético que incluya los pasos de hacer reaccionar el monóxido de carbono y al menos uno de metanol y un derivado de metanol en un primer reactor sometido a las condiciones efectivas para obtener un producto de ácido acético sin tratar; separar el producto de ácido acético sin tratar en al menos una corriente derivada, al menos una de las corrientes derivadas contiene monóxido de carbono residual y haciendo reaccionar al menos una porción del monóxido de carbono residual con al menos un metanol y un derivado de metanol sobre el catalítico de metal en el segundo reactor para obtener ácido acético adicional.
