La presente se refiere al campo de la transformación de plantas con los genes que confieren tolerancia al glifosato. La presente particularmente se refiere a una planta de maíz transformada con un gen que codifica un EPSPS que proporciona la tolerancia a la planta a una aplicación del glifosato en condiciones en que este herbicida es efectivo en la destrucción de malezas.
