Abstract
Un desafío en el uso de material reciclado en el proceso de fabricación de papel es la presencia de materiales orgánicos hidrofóbicos con propiedades adhesivas que comúnmente se conocen como “cuerpos pegajosos” (“stickies and tackies”). Los aglomerados hidrofóbicos pueden resultar en manchas o defectos en el producto final de papel o se depositan en las máquinas de fabricación de papel resultando en dificultades en el proceso y tiempo fuera de servicio. Existen tecnologías para monitorear y controlar los cuerpos pegajosos microscópicos. Sin embargo, existe la necesidad de una técnica para determinar rápidamente el tamaño y el contenido de los cuerpos pegajosos macroscópicos (diámetro > 100 mm) en corrientes de procesamiento de pulpa reciclada. La presente es un dispositivo y un método para realizar en tiempo real el análisis de cuerpos pegajosos macroscópicos y/o cualquier partícula hidrofóbica visibles en un medio acuoso. Mediante el uso de la presente, se puede monitorear la calidad de la pasta de papel y se puede monitorear y controlar la ejecución del tratamiento. La técnica se basa en el análisis de imágenes de fluorescencia para identificar y contar partículas pegajosas y también medir su tamaño.
