Abstract
Un proceso para fabricar vidrio de soda-cal que incluye calcinar carbonato de calcio en fase sólida y a temperatura elevada para formar óxido de calcio y liberar gases tales como dióxido de carbono. El vidrio de silicato de sodio se forma por separado en fase líquida mientras que se liberan los productos gaseosos de reacción. Los productos intermedios, óxido de calcio y el vidrio de silicato de sodio se mezclan en fase líquida para formar una fundición de vidrio de soda-cal. La formación de vidrio de silicato de sodio como un producto intermedio antes de la mezcla con el óxido de calcio tiene la ventaja de generar la liberación de los productos gaseosos de reacción en el silicato de sodio debido a, por lo menos en parte, la relativamente baja viscosidad del vidrio de silicato de sodio. El paso de calcinación y/o el paso de formar silicato de sodio y/o el paso final de mezclado se pueden llevar a cabo bajo presión reducida para generar luego la liberación de gases y reducir la formación de burbujas.
