Abstract

Se confecciona una protesis dental en una sola visita usando una plantilla dental preformada, escogida de entre una variedad de plantillas dentales de diferentes tamanos, basándose en el tamano del reborde alveolar edentado del paciente. La plantilla dental incluye una base acrílica con dientes prostéticos unidos a ella. Un material viscoso, tal como el acrílico se agrega a la plantilla dental seleccionada y la plantilla dental con el material viscoso agregado se coloca sobre el reborde alveolar edentado del paciente. Entonces se deja que el material viscoso solidifique para formar un material rígido o semi-rígido con la plantilla en posicion apropiada en tres planos y moldeando apropiadamente los bordes. Después de la solidificacion se ha formado una protesis que consiste en una primera seccion de base acrílica en relacion estrecha con una segunda seccion formada por el material solidificando que se ha agregado como material viscoso y con dientes unidos a la base acrílica.
