Abstract
La presente provee una planta de soja de elite agronomica con mutaciones no transgénicas que confieren un fenotipo de glicinina nula, un contenido incrementado de beta-conglicinina y un contenido incrementado de la subunidad alfa' de beta-conglicinina en las semillas. También provee derivados y partes de plantas de estas plantas y usos de las mismas. Se proveen también métodos para producir dichas plantas. Reivindicacion 1: Una planta de soja capaz de producir semillas caracterizada porque comprende un contenido sustancialmente reducido de glicinina y un contenido incrementado de beta-conglicinina, en donde el nivel de la subunidad alfa' es al menos igual, sobre la base del porcentaje de proteínas totales de las semillas, que el nivel de la subunidad alfa en el trímero de beta-conglicinina. Reivindicacion 2: La planta de soja de la reivindicacion 1, caracterizada porque el nivel de una subunidad beta del trímero de beta-conglicinina permanece sustancialmente sin cambios.
