Abstract

Un método para licuar gas natural usando la energía e la presion del gas natural, en donde se emplea vapor de evaporacion rápida de la despresurizacion del gas natural en un ciclo de refrigeracion para subenfriar el gas natural de alta presion antes de la evaporacion rápida. Reivindicacion 1: Un método para producir gas natural licuado caracterizado porque comprende: (A) comprimir una primera porcion de un gas natural de alta presion, llevándolo a una temperatura por encima de su punto de congelamiento y turboexpandir dicha primera porcion para producir al menos una parte de la refrigeracion que se requiere para licuar la segunda porcion remanente del gas natural; (B) licuar la segunda porcion remanente del gas natural y subenfriar la mencionada segunda porcion y evaporar rápidamente el gas natural subenfriado para producir vapor de evaporacion rápida y gas natural licuado a baja presion; (C) comprimir el gas de refrigeracion y turboexpandir el gas de refrigeracion comprimido para producir el gas de refrigeracion enfriado; y (D) calentar el vapor de evaporacion rápida y el gas de refrigeracion enfriado por intercambio de calor indirecto con el gas natural de alta presion para producir gas natural licuado subenfriado.
