Abstract

Un método para mejorar plantas de maíz que contienen locus de rasgos cuantitativos qué están asociados a la resistencia a la mancha gris de la hoja, una enfermedad fungica asociada a Cercospora spp. También incluye germoplasma y el uso de germoplasma que contiene locus de rasgos cuantitativos (QTL) que confieren resistencia a enfermedades para la introgresion en germoplasma elite en un programa de mejoramiento para la resistencia a la mancha gris de la hoja. Reivindicacion 1: Un método de introgresion de un alelo en una planta de maíz que consiste en: (A) cruzar al menos una primera planta de maíz que comprende una secuencia de ácidos nucleicos seleccionada entre el grupo que comprende la SEQ ID N°: 66 a la SEQ ID N°:78 con al menos una segunda planta de maíz a fin de formar una poblacion segregante, (B) examinar la oblacion segregante con uno o más marcadores de ácido nucleico para determinar si una o más plantas de maíz de la poblacion segregante contiene la secuencia de ácidos nucleicos, y (C) seleccionar de la poblacion segregante una o más plantas de maíz que comprende una secuencia de ácidos nucleicos seleccionada entre el grupo que comprende la SEQ ID N°: 66 a SEQ ID N°:78.
