Abstract
La presente se relaciona con el campo del desarrollo de plantas y la resistencia a enfermedades. Más específicamente, en la presente se incluye un método para desarrollar plantas de maíz que contienen loci de caracteres cuantitativos (QTL) que están asociados con la resistencia a la pudricion de las mazorcas causada por Diplodia, una enfermedad fungica asociada con Stenocarpella maydis y Stenocarpella macrospora. Además, se incluye germoplasma y el uso de germoplasma que contiene QTL que confieren resistencia a enfermedades para introducirlo en germoplasma elite, en un programa de desarrollo para conferir resistencia a la DER. Reivindicacion 1: Un método para introducir un alelo asociado con la pudricion de las mazorcas causada por resistencia a la Diplodia (DER) en una planta de maíz caracterizado porque comprende (A) cruzar al menos una planta de maíz resistente a la DER con al menos una segunda planta de maíz, con el fin de formar una poblacion segregante, (B) en la poblacion segregante, determinar el genotipo con al menos una segunda planta de maíz con relacion a un ácido nucleico genomico marcador de maíz seleccionado del grupo que consiste en SEQ ID Ns 1 a 47, y (C) en la poblacion segregante, seleccionar al menos una planta de maíz que comprende al menos un genotipo que corresponde a una planta de maíz resistente a la DER.
