Abstract

Un método y un aparato para convertir material carbonáceo en una corriente de gas rico en metano y monoxido de carbono al calentar el material carbonáceo en un reactor de lecho fluidificado que utiliza hidrogeno, como medio fluidizante, y vapor, bajo condiciones de reduccion a una temperatura y presion suficientes para generar una corriente de gas rico en metano y monoxido de carbono pero a una temperatura suficientemente baja y/o una presion suficientemente alta como para permitir la fluidizacion del material carbonáceo por parte del hidrogeno. En realizaciones particulares, el material carbonáceo es alimentado como un suministro de lechada, junto con hidrogeno, a un reactor tipo horno de secado antes de enviarlo al reactor de lecho fluidizado. El aparato que se provee comprende un reactor tipo horno de secado, una bomba de lechada conectada a una entrada del reactor de horno de secado, medios para conectar una fuente de hidrogeno a una entrada del reactor de horno de secado, un reactor de lecho fluidizado conectado para recibir la produccion del reactor tipo horno de secado para su procesamiento en la zona de fluidizacion y una fuente de vapor y de hidrogeno conectadas al reactor de lecho fluidizado debajo de la zona de fluidizacion. Opcionalmente, se puede proveer una moledora en el reactor tipo horno de secado
