Abstract

Un método y un aparato para convertir material carbonáceo en una corriente de gas rico en carbono, que comprende calentar un suministro de lechada que contiene el material carbonáceo en un proceso de hidrogasificacion utilizando hidrogeno y vapor, a una temperatura y presion suficientes para generar una corriente rica en metano y monoxido de carbono en la cual el tiempo de conversion en el proceso es de entre 5 y 45 segundos. En realizaciones particulares, el suministro de lechada que contiene material carbonáceo es enviado, junto con hidrogeno, a un reactor tipo horno antes de enviarlo al reactor de lecho fluidificado. Se provee un aparato que comprende un reactor tipo horno, una bomba de lechada conectada a una entrada del reactor tipo horno, medios para conectar una fuente de hidrogeno a una entrada del reactor tipo horno; un reactor de lecho fluidificado conectado para recibir la salida del reactor tipo horno para su procesamiento en la zona de fluidificacion y una fuente de vapor y una fuente de hidrogeno conectadas al reactor fluidificado debajo de la zona de fluidificacion. Opcionalmente, en el reactor tipo horno se puede proveer una trituradora.
