Abstract
Una composicion biocombustible que comprende: (A) una fase continua que comprende aproximadamente 50-95% en peso de al menos un aceite líquido de origen vegetal o animal o sus mezclas; (B) una fase que contiene agua despensada que comprende aproximadamente 1-50% en peso de agua; (C) aproximadamente 1-25% en peso de un compuesto orgánico que contiene hidroxilo seleccionado del grupo que consiste en alcoholes mono-, di-, tri- y polihídricos, siempre que cuando se usa un alcohol monohídrico también esté presente al menos uno de alcohol ter-butílico, al menos un alquilen C2-4 glicol o una mezcla de ambos; (D) aproximadamente 0,05-10% en peso de al menos un emulsificante; en donde las gotitas dispersas que contienen agua tienen un tamano promedio de partícula de menos aproximadamente 20 micrones. El biocombustible se prepara a partir de estos componentes por mezclado en condiciones de gran desagregacion, con preferencia con energía ultrasonica. El(os) emulsificante(s) con preferencia exhiben un balance hidrofílico-lipofílico de aproximadamente 8.5 a aproximadamente 1 y el biocombustible incluye un mejorador de cetano y una mezcla de un alcohol y mono o polialquilenglicol.A biofuel composition comprising: (A) a continuous phase comprising approximately 50-95% by weight of at least one liquid oil of vegetable or animal origin or mixtures thereof; (B) a phase containing panned water comprising approximately 1-50% by weight of water; (C) about 1-25% by weight of an organic hydroxyl-containing compound selected from the group consisting of mono-, di-, tri- and polyhydric alcohols, provided that when a monohydric alcohol is used at least one of tert-butyl alcohol, at least one C2-4 alkylene glycol or a mixture of both; (D) about 0.05-10% by weight of at least one emulsifier; where the dispersed droplets containing water have an average particle size of less than about 20 microns. The biofuel is prepared from these components by mixing under conditions of high disaggregation, preferably with ultrasonic energy. The emulsifier (s) preferably exhibit a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of about 8.5 to about 1 and the biofuel includes a cetane improver and a mixture of an alcohol and mono or polyalkylene glycol.
