Abstract
Un sistema de determinacion de direccion particularmente util con un sistema de conduccion automático retroajustable compara el régimen de cambio del régimen de guinada del vehículo y el régimen de cambio de la posicion del volante. La determinacion de la direccion se efectua comparando el signo del cambio de ángulo del volante y el signo del cambio del régimen de guinada. Puede monitorearse el curso GPS después que la direccion se ha determinado para proveer una respuesta más rápida a la direccion cambiante. Se indica un cambio de direccion cuando la velocidad del vehículo pasa a cero y el curso GPS se invierte generalmente. Aun cuando se conozca la direccion, pueden monitorearse los cambios en el ángulo del volante y el régimen de guinada para verificar que la indicacion de direccion es correcta.
