Abstract
Métodos para determinar el estado de prenez de un animal ungulado por deteccion del nivel de la fraccion proteica PAG-55. Estos métodos pueden comprender la deteccion de proteínas enriquecidas en PAG-55 en la fraccion proteica PAG-55 utilizando nuevos anticuerpos policlonales y monoclonales que fueron generados usando la fraccion proteica enriquecida en PAG-55 como inmunogeno. La nueva fraccion proteica PAG-55 indica que el animal está prenado cuando en una muestra se determinan niveles elevados de la fraccion proteica PAG-55 ácida, o componentes antigénicos de la misma. La presente también provee métodos para obtener la fraccion enriquecida en PAG-55. La presente provee métodos precisos para detectar la prenez en etapas tempranas y presenta la ventaja de una deteccion temprana post-parto del estado de prenez con pocos resultados falso positivos. Los anticuerpos para detectar las proteínas PAG-55 también serán de utilidad combinados con la deteccion de niveles elevados de progesterona en el animal, proporcionando así un método de deteccion de prenez aun más eficaz. El beneficio de esta deteccion temprana de la prenez es que la identificacion de animales que no están prenados poco después del servicio, permite programar un nuevo servicio y minimiza el tiempo que el animal está receptivo. También se describen métodos para tomar una decision de servicio para un animal. Estos métodos permiten que el productor tome decisiones de servicio basado en los niveles de la fraccion proteica PAG-55 y, opcionalmente, en los servicios de progesterona detectados en una muestra biologica tomada de un animal que posiblemente se encuentra en una etapa de prenez temprana.
