Abstract
Proteínas de fusion del Complejo de Toxinas (ôTCö) insecticidas y polinucleotidos, que codifican estas proteínas de fusion. Además, polinucleotidos que codifican dichas proteínas de fusion de TC, y vectores que comprenden dichos polinucleotidos. Entre otras, se provee una proteína de fusion que comprende una proteína de Clase A, una proteína de Clase B, y una proteína de Clase C de TC fusionadas conjuntamente para formar una unica proteína. Además, se provee una proteína de fusion que comprende una proteína de TC de Clase B, y una de Clase C fusionadas conjuntamente. La proteína de fusion BC o CB puede usarse para intensificar o potenciar la actividad anti-insecto de una ôToxina Aö o proteína de Clase A. Hasta hora, no había expectativas de que dichas proteínas de fusion funcionaran apropiadamente y mantuvieran su actividad cuando se fusionaran conjuntamente. De este modo se reduce de manera ventajosa el numero de genes necesarios para transformar plantas. Para tal fin se incluye, además, plantas, células (células bacterianas y de plantas, por ejemplo), y semillas que comprenden dichos polinucleotidos. Dichas plantas pueden producir las proteínas de fusion que les confieren resistencia a los insectos se incluye, por ultimo, métodos para controlar plagas (con preferencia insectos y otras plagas de las plantas) con dichas proteínas de fusion. Reivindicacion 1: Una proteína de fusion aislada que comprende un polipéptido del Complejo de Toxinas Clase B y un polipéptido del Complejo de Toxinas Clase C en la cual: dicho polipéptido de Clase B es un potenciador de 130-180 kDa que tiene una secuencia de aminoácidos por lo menos 40 % idéntica a una secuencia seleccionada del grupo formado por: TcdB1 (SEC ID NO: 5); TcdB2 (SEC ID NO: 6); TcaC (SEC ID NO: 7); XptC1wi (SEC ID NO: 8); XptB1xb (SEC ID NO: 9); PptB11529 (SEC ID NO: 10); y Sep B (SEC ID NO: 11); y dicho polipéptido de Clase C es un potenciador de 90-112 kDa que tiene una secuencia de aminoácidos por lo menos 35 % idéntica a una secuencia seleccionada del grupo formado por: TccC1 (SEC ID NO: 12); TccC2 (SEC ID NO: 13); TccC3 (SEC ID NO: 14); TccC (SEC ID NO: 15); TccC5 (SEC ID NO: 16); XptB1wi (SEC ID NO: 17); XptC1xb (SEC ID NO: 18); PptC1 (larga) (SEC ID NO: 19); PptC1 (corta) (SEC ID NO: 20); y SepC (SEC ID NO: 21) y dichos polipéptidos de Clase B y de Clase C son capaces de intensificar la actividad insecticida de un polipéptido del Complejo de Toxinas de Clase A de 230- 290 kD.
