Abstract

En algunas realizaciones, los métodos para producir monoolefinas incluyen poner en contacto una corriente de olefina con un solvente polar para extraer un hidrocarburo altamente insaturado de la corriente de olefina, y luego poner en contacto el solvente polar con un catalizador de hidrogenación en presencia de hidrógeno, bajo condiciones efectivas para hidrogenar el hidrocarburo altamente insaturado en una monoolefina. Posteriormente, la monoolefina se separa por desorción del solvente polar y entra en la corriente de olefina purificada, lo que permite el reciclaje del solvente polar.
