Abstract

El material superabsorbente tratado para resistir el deterioro cuando se lo somete a una prueba de simulación de procesamiento de producto absorbente, la cual simula el deterioro mecánico que ocurre durante los procesos de fabricación de pañal que se comercializa en el mercado actual. El material superabsorbente tratado tiene una capacidad de retención centrífuga de alrededor de 15 gramos o más, de 0,9 % en peso de cloruro de sodio por gramo de material superabsorbente, y una permeabilidad de lecho de gel (GBP) a una presión de hinchazón de 0 libras por pulgada cuadrada sobre partículas previamente cribadas de alrededor de 200 (x-10-9 cm2) o más. Después de someter el material superabsorbente tratado a la prueba de simulación de procesamiento de producto absorbente, dicho superabsorbente tratado puede exhibir una reducción mínima de la permeabilidad de lecho de gel de partículas previamente cribadas o no cribadas a 0 libras por pulgada cuadrada o a 0,3 libras por pulgada cuadrada de presión de hinchazón, así como posiblemente exhibir una reducción mínima del diámetro de tamaño de partícula promedio (PSD). El material superabsorbente puede tratarse agregándole una solución acuosa de un polímero blando hidrofílico al material superabsorbente, mezclando el material superabsorbente con la solución acuosa, y secando el material superabsorbente.
