Abstract
Un catalizador para la hidrogenación selectiva de acetileno, caracterizado porque comprende: un material inorgánico de soporte de alta área superficial, cuya área superficial es por lo menos 150 m2 / g y oro en una cantidad comprendida entre alrededor de 0,05 y alrededor de 5,0% en peso del catalizador y en el cual la profundidad de penetración del oro dentro del material de soporte es tal que alrededor del 90% del oro está situado 250 micrones hacia adentro de la superficie del catalizador. El catalizador de oro puede incluir también un aditivo de metal noble. Un método para preparar el catalizador y se provee también su utilización en la hidrogenación de acetileno.
