Abstract

Se proporcionan bebidas y mezclas en polvo para bebidas fortificadas con EDTA férrico como fuente de hierro. Las bebidas y mezclas para bebidas fortificadas con EDTA férrico de acuerdo con la presente invención tienen superior biodisponibilidad de hierro y excelente estabilidad al almacenamiento. La presente invención también está dirigida a un método de utilización de tales fortificadas con EDTA férrico para prevenir o tratar anemia por deficiencia de hierro en individuos mediante la administración de la bebida fortificada con hierro de la invención en una cantidad efectiva a un individuo en necesidad del mismo.
