Abstract

Los elementos de los datos, especialmente los que representan datos de video, se dividen logicamente en bloques. Cada bloque se inspecciona bit por bitpara determinar si los elementos de los datos de dicho bloque pueden ser representados en unformat o de gran compactacion. Si un bloque determinado no puedeser representado en esta forma, es subdividido en bloques con dimensiones más reducidas. El mismo resultado se puede obtener a través del uso de una pluralidad de tablasascendentes que se construyen por formacion repetitiva de tablas de elementos de datos reducidos. La pluralidad detablas ascende ntesse examina y, en base a los elementos de datos reducidos,se identifican los bloques de datos que son susceptibles de un formato de gran compactacion. Se usan preferentemente transformantes de ondas pequenas paraproveer lacompresion de datos de v ideo.
