Abstract

Electrodos para reacciones electroquímicas en electrolitos ácidos, especialmente electrodos a base de carbon. Un electrodo bipolar a base de carbonpara reacciones de reduccion y oxidacion electroquímicas en un electrolito ácido en forma de un septumimpermeable de fluidos y conductor de laelectricidad, al menos una cara del cual consiste de, como mínimo parcialmente, una trama tejida o no tejida permeable a los fluidos electronicamenteactiva de fibras de carbon o de hilos de fibras de carbon,en donde dicho septum impermeable a los fluidos y conductor de la electricidades un compuesto de una trama matriz que adopta la forma de una trama hilada o tejida apretadamente de fibras de carbon o de hilosde fibras de carbon cuyos poros sonhidráulic amente sellados por un material que contiene carbon conductor de la electricidad, rellenándolos al menosparcialmente. Dicho material conductor de la electricidad que contiene carbon es un carbon vítreo formado in situ mediante laconversion térmica d e unmaterial precursor con la cual dicha trama matriz es pre-impregnada o bien es una resina de termofijacion polimerizada cargada con partículas de carbony/o grafito y/o fibras. Un proceso de fabricacion de un electrodo bipolara base de carbon para reacciones de reduccion y oxidacion electroquímicas en unelectrolito ácido que comprende los pasos de: a) provision de una trama matriz o de fibras de carbon o de hilos de fibras de carbon; b) provision de unatrama permeable alos fluidos de fibras de carbon o de hilos de fibras de carbon; c) formacion de una mezcla fluida que contiene un material pertenecientea un precursor carbonizable de carbon vítreo, una resina de termofijacion polimerizable, sin polimerizar oparcialmente polimerizada car gada conpartículas de grafito y/o fibras; d) impregnacion de dicha trama matriz con dicha mezcla fluida; e) colocacion de trozos de dicha trama permeable a losfluidos de fibras de carbon o de hilos de fibras de carbonen contacto con las caras opuest as de la trama matriz impregnada; f) se somete el sándwich
