Abstract

Una cadena, como la utilizada en un mecanismo de izado de un carro de un vehículo montacargas de horquilla, tiene una pluralidad de conjuntos de eslabonintercalados, cada uno de los cuales tiene un par de placas externas del eslabon y una pluralidadde placas intermedias del eslabon. Las placas externas deleslabon tienen una resistencia menor a la de cualquier placa intermedia del eslabon, cuando son medidas sin estar montadas. Se puede lograr una resistenciareducida reduciendo el espesor o el área de cabeza de las placas del eslabon. Las placas externas del eslabon pueden tener una rigidez del 60% al 90% de larigidez promedio en toda la cadena, y un primer grupo de placas intermedias del eslabon de ciertas configuraciones de cadenas tieneuna rigidez del 70% al 90%de la rigidez promedio en toda la cadena. La presente provee una cadena, en la cual la carga es compartida más equitativamente entre las placas de eslabones ypermite que una sola cadena combinada sea reemplazada por dos cadenas más pequenas, sin perder capacidad de carga.
