Abstract

Se trata de una celda de plomo ácido que comprende un contenedor, por lo menos una placa positiva y una placa negativa, dispuestas dentro de dichocontenedor, un separador dispuesto dentro de dicho contenedor y que separa a dichas placas positivas yn egativas, comprendiendo dicha placa positiva unaestructura porta-rejilla que tiene una capa de material activo empastado sobre ella, comprendiendo dicha estructura porta-rejilla una aleacion de plomo queconsiste esencialmente en plomo, estano enel i ntervalo de 0,8% a 1,1%; el estano se halla presente con una relacion estano/sodio superior a 12:1, y plata enel intervalo mayor de 0 a 0,017%, estando los porcentajes, referidos al peso total de dicha aleacion de plomo. Los niveles optimosdescripto s de estano yplata, tienen como resultado una aleacion positiva con propiedades mecánicas superiores y una mejor resistencia contra la corrosion, lo cual permite obteneruna vida superior de la batería en las aplicaciones SLI actuales.
