Abstract

Una disposicion de pellets parasiticidas que administra control tanto inmediato como a largo plazo de la infectacion de parásitos en un animal como partede un unico procedimiento de implante. La disposicion incluye un aparato implantador para implantar subcutáneamente pellets parasiticidas en un animal a travésdel orificio de una aguja hipodérmica que es acoplada operativamente a una tira porta pellets, y una pluralidad de pellets dimensionados para ser implantadosa través de la aguja y posicionados en la tira porta pellets para alineacion selectiva de un pellet con la aguja. Los pellets incluyen por lo menos un segundopellet de dosis de agente parasiticida de liberacion prolongada. Los pellets combinados son empacados en la tira porta pellets en orden secuencial paraadministracion simultánea de una dosis inmediata y una dosis prolongada como parte de una unica inyeccion. La disposicion permite tanto la liberacioninmediata como la liberacion sostenida de una dosis eficaz de un agente parasiticida, a fin de controlar la presente infectacion con parásitos y para evitarreinfectacion durante un período de hasta aproximadamente 150 días.
